To kick off the fall term, the Asian American Initiative (AAI) participated in the College New Student Orientation Academic Resources Fair. Emily Kam, AAI Communications Fellow and Teresa Aguayo, Director of Academic Administration and Finance, connected with dozens of students to share information about upcoming AAI events, internships, and research opportunities.
Students brought incredible energy to the event, expressing inspiration for AAI’s work to amplify AAPI voices and advance inclusion. Many had already championed AAPI initiatives—such as advocating for Asian American courses or writing for student publications—and showed great excitement about joining AAI to further Asian American studies at Columbia.
